PALILULA NIGHT - IN THE HEART OF PALILULA

Musical and theatrical program "In the heart of Palilula" Nis, annual exhibition of artists' RENAISSANCE Byzantium, the promotion of folk arts and crafts, socializing, film review of archaeological and environmental film" EKOpolis fest. Traditionally, in the framework of celebrating the city of Nis Holy Emperor Constantine and Empress Jelena Day, Palilula Municipality organizes "PALILULA NIGHT 2013" at Sunday 02.June. This musical and theatrical program, which takes place for more than a decade in Palilula, a kind of promotion of the Nis meeting place for people from Nis to the eventful cultural program, the old, spiritual and pop music. "This is an important day for our community, for our city and our municipalities”, said at a press conference Boban Džunić, president of Municipality. Cultural manifestation "Palilula Night" has always been part of the celebration of the City of Nis and this year is also a part of the great jubilee of 1700 years of the Edict of Milan.

Palilula is recognized as part of the city, where you can still feel the spirit of the old bazaar, aristocratic and bohemian Nis. So we decided to stage our music program, "U srcu Palilule" in adjust time. In addition to the participants of the cultural program, there will be thousands of people from Nis-Municipality of Palilula, and numerous guests from other communities. According to president Dzunic, there will be guests from Banja Luka, Krusevac, Lazarevac and Republic of Bulgaria.

Considering the related programs and events, there was word from Slavoljub Todorovic-Zorkin, president of the Association of Multimedia Artists "Constantine", Milos Stojkovic, president of municipal assembly of Palilula, and Dragan Vidojković, artistic director of the International Archaeological and Environmental Film Festival "EKOPOLIS fest".

“Palilula Night” event will be preceded by the opening of the exhibition "Byzantium Renaissance 2013” at 18.00 at the Pavilion Fortress. Eleventh annual exhibition of the Nis Multimedia Association of Artists "Constantine," which is being organized in collaboration with the Contemporary Art Gallery and sponsored by Municipality of Palilula-Nis, will be opened by municipality president Boban Džunić.

The "Palilula Night", "In the Heart of Palilula", evening of spiritual, traditional music and Nis “merak” will commence at 19:30 hours on the Stage in front of Palilula ramp, with the performance of the most successful young vocal soloists with "Karaoke Fest 2013 Palilula." Around 20:30 hours Boban  Džunić, president of Municipality of Palilula, will address the assembled citizens and contractors of the program. It is also expected that the assembled citizens of Niš-Palilula be greeted by some officials of the church, His Holiness, Serbian Patriarch Irinej,  Bishop Jovan of Nis and Mayor of the City of Nis Prof. Dr. Zoran Perisic. Since 2004, when Palilula Municipality was founded, Bishop of Nis is regularly present at the event "Palilula Night".

  A performance of the military orchestra is expected during the official part of the program; and also Children's Church Choir "Branko"; Ethno group "Zone"; Church dancing ensemble ''Branko''; finalists of the "I have talent" competition, KUD "Kovilje"; vocal ensemble "Constantine", KUD" Srma"; KUD “Piskavica” from Banja Luka; Pop - Rock group "SO & SO".
